    Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with the PayPal Payments for WooCommerce plugin on my WordPress site. I’m trying to disable the PayLater option only for subscription products while keeping it enabled for regular products. However, I haven’t been able to achieve this despite trying several approaches.

    What I’ve tried:

    1. I’ve attempted to use the ‘ppcp_disable_funding’ filter to disable PayLater when a subscription product is in the cart.
    2. I’ve also tried using the ‘ppcp_payment_method_funding_sources’ filter to remove PayLater from the funding sources for subscription products.
    3. I’ve ensured that my site cache is cleared after making these changes.

Despite these attempts, PayLater still appears as an option at checkout even when there’s only a subscription product in the cart.

Could you please provide guidance on how to correctly implement this functionality? Is there a recommended way to disable PayLater specifically for subscription products while keeping it enabled for regular products?

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Best regards

    Hello @websuper

Currently, displaying the Pay Later button for regular products while hiding it for subscription products is only possible when using PayPal Subscriptions. If you’re using PayPal Vaulting, the Pay Later button and messaging are not available at all.

There was a previous request to allow the Pay Later button for simple products while hiding it for subscription-type products. However, PayPal decided to keep Vaulting and Pay Later as mutually exclusive options, meaning merchants can only use one or the other, but not both simultaneously.

One scenario where you might still see the Pay Later button for subscription products is if you have enabled the “Accept Manual Renewals” setting in the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin and set the Subscriptions Mode to “Disable PayPal for Subscriptions.” However, this setup would not allow automatic renewals, so it may not be ideal.

To assist you better, it would be helpful to understand your setup more thoroughly. Could you please share your current System Status Report? You can get it by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site. Once there, click the Get system report button, and then copy it using the Copy for support button.

Please upload the relevant log entries to our PrivateBin. After uploading, please share the link here so that we can review the logs in detail.

    Kind Regards,
