I can run the All Export and drag and drop the data fields into the content area, but on using All Import function on the staging site, I cannot drag and drop anything, therefore all imported posts are empty. Please can you help? I have been working on this for several days now and am running out of time.

    Please try the following steps:

    • Make sure you’re updated to the newest versions of WordPress and our plugins.
    • If you already are, try running a full conflict test on a staging copy of the site: https://www.wpallimport.com/documentation/plugin-theme-conflicts/.
    • If the conflict test doesn’t help, try using a different browser that you don’t normally use (preferably one without extensions).

If none of that works, try logging the error in your browser, see: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/using-your-browser-to-diagnose-javascript-errors/.

Let us know what you find out.

Thanks for getting back to me. I had already ran the plugin isolation process with no improvement. However, I decided to change browser to Chrome as I was using Safari.

Now – this is the problem and it is important. The dragging does not work in Safari for importing and the data tags are different – so that looks like they may be wrong. However, in Chrome I managed to drag and drop. It did not work terribly well as I had to try several times on each to actually get the drag function to work. For example the tag {{_title}} did not always show, it took several goes to get this working. It is not a plugin or theme conflict, it is a Mac Browser problem and/or the way this has been set up that’s causing the issue.

But I have managed to import 1600 posts!

    Hi @bloohair,

Are you using three-finger drag or a Magic Mouse? If so, you should try plugging in a USB mouse and see if things work better.

Alternatively, you can double click the import element and then click in the field you want to place it (this works for most but not all fields).

In any case, I’m glad you were able to get your posts imported!
