• I have one post which I am unable to edit (https://www.id-extras.com/complete-pdf-catalogue-of-google-fonts)

When I click on it in the wp-admin, I see the title “Edit Post”, I see a button next to it, “Add New”, and at the bottom right I see a blue button, “Update”. In the middle is a big grey blank screen. (The dashboard appear normallys on the left.) The whole editing section is completely blank.

I only get this for this one post. All other I can edit fine.

Any ideas what this might be?

    Thanks!

  • What happens if you create a new post with the same content?

    Hi Esmi,

Thanks again for being there to help.

Well, I tried recreating the post as you suggested, and it lead to the (unexpected) solution.

A little background: My Internet provider has a Parental Filtering option, which I use.

When I tried to publish the same post, I got a message from the Internet provider saying they were blocking the post! So I’ve been spending some time on the phone with them — since this is clearly a false positive. It emerges that one of the plugins I use has a dictionary, and that dictionary includes a few naughty words, and so they were blocking the post.

But the block only happened when viewing the post via wp-admin, because then the plugin was triggering the alert, but when viewed via web, it was fine.

So the IP was allowing wp-admin to show up, but the visual editor was being blocked — hence the blank screen!

Anyway, it’s all been sorted out now.

    Many thanks again!
