I found a theme I really like, redesigned a header and installed it (works fine) but when I am in presentations viewing sidebar.php for instance, I do some changes in it but when i go to “view site” there is no sign of the changes i made. Am I doing this all wrong?

Are you seeing a sentence at the bottom something like “if this file was writeable you could edit it”? If so, then you have to change permissions on the file to allow editing within the theme editor. Try 666 first, then if it still doesn’t save the file, boost to 777. BUT SET PERMISSIONS BACK TO 644 when you’ve done editing!

I changes permissions to 777 but still cant seem to see the changes made in editing on the site. and those words “if this file was writeable you could edit it” are still at the bottom.
