    After he latestrounds of updates to WP 4.9.8 I was unable to use any functions in Siteorigin PageBuilder. so I did what everybody says to do. Deactivated all my plugins, clear the cache,site and computer plus chrome, even added some other WP editor plugins to see if they could help. But nope.

    Consulted with Siteorigin and what was discovered from there diagnoses was that my site is now “all core WordPress assets are missing and that is resulting in no JavaScript working on your website” To fix this issue I was to do a back up of my site and “then navigate to WP Admin > Dashboard > Updates and click Re-install Now. This will reinstall WordPress and restore all of the missing assets”

    I followed the instructions to the letter. However, The problem remain. I am unable to edit any content on my website. My media library is empty as well. Does anybody have a suggestion to a fix.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Howdy, howdy!

    I know this may sound odd and I’m not sure if you have already tried but deactivate all plugins to see if that resolves the issue and be sure to clear any and all caches if you are using a plugin for that.

    If that doesn’t work then it could mean that files were not written/saved properly and you will have to use S/FTP in order to upload the files to the server, host, site – sorry there are so many ways of saying to the computer that displays the site to the world.

    Just tried deactivating all plugins again. issue still remains. I was able to edit my site a few weeks ago. Then I did all my updates updated and now my site is not able to be edited. What files do you mean.

    I received a message from my hosting provider that this is a WordPress problem and “It also been determined that the issue occurs due to a coding error”. So what I did was connected filezilla and downloaded a fresh version of 4.9.8 thinking maybe the issue was with the update and direct reinstall. However the problem still exists. I’ve done everything now at my end I can think of, other than a complete rebuild of my site. One option I have been made aware of is to revert back to the WordPress version prior. I cant be the only one with this issue though if its a coding error. HELP.

    Hi @freebird6996,

    You might get better debugging info by enabling it in wp-config.php. Edit it by FTP so that you can remove this after (it could crash the entire site if there are a lot of errors)

    Add this to the bottom of wp-config.php, but before “/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */”

    define('SAVEQUERIES', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true);
    define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true);

    Mine looks like this
    /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

    add what you said prior to this but it made things worse.

    Hi @freebird6996,

    It would definitely be worse if the site has errors, but it should be showing you the exact error messages on the screen. Then you can search the exact messages on Google, or paste here (or paste at https://pastebin.com/ if you have a lot).

    This is what I can find that doesn’t look right to me

    @freebird6996 those are optional and a few of those are constants I mentioned above to set to true in order to discover errors. Did any PHP errors show on the screen? The only way to fix it is to identify and fix those errors.

    If no errors are showing on the screen, also check the developer’s console to look for any errors there. Here’s a guide on how to check:
