The pages on my site were built with Patterns. Each section of the page is a separate pattern. When I click on the “Edit Page” at the top of the screen on the admin menu bar the editor opens and then loads indefinitely (or a dialog box pops on screen to wait or exit page). I have tried in chrome, edge, and firefox, all with the same results. If I deactivate the Gutenverse plugin the editor works again, however I don’t have access to the patterns to edit. Is there anyone else that has experienced something similar or anyone that knows a work around?

    Hi,

Have you updated to the latest version of Gutenverse?

You mentioned multiple patterns. Could you try creating a new page with just one pattern and check if the issue still occurs?

If the issue persists, try this:

    1. Deactivate Gutenverse.
    2. Go to Appearance > Editor > Patterns and look for the patterns used on the page you are trying to edit.
    3. Find the synced patterns and delete them from the page you’re editing.
    4. Reactivate Gutenverse and check if the issue still persists.

Please let me know after trying these steps.

Created a new page with just one pattern and there are no issues.

I previously deactivated Gutenverse (on a dev server) and the problem went away, that was how I narrowed it down to the patterns. The problem with what you are suggesting is that if I do that my site is unusable to the outside world and would take to long to fix all of the issues before reenabling Gutenverse. At present the site works for the user, I just can’t edit any of the previously created pages. If disabling Gutenverse didn’t break the theme and layout I would do that. This all worked as expected until an update that changed the ability to edit patterns on the page they were used on.

After further searching it looks like I am experiencing something similar to this post

    Hi,

Yes, that issue has been resolved in the latest version of Gutenverse. This is why I asked if you’ve updated to the most recent version.

If your Gutenverse is fully updated and the problem persists, we might need more information to help pinpoint the cause. Please assist us by providing:

    1. gutenverse system status
    2. are you editing page or post?
    3. what are the contents of the page/post you are editing.
    4. what block is inside the pattern that is used in the page/post.

You can try creating a new dummy page with a draft status, replicating the content from the page you’re trying to edit. To do this without triggering the error:

    1. Deactivate Gutenverse temporarily.
    2. Go to the page editor, click on the three dots in the top-right corner, and select Code Editor.
    3. Copy the code text of the page content and paste it into a new dummy page.
    4. Reactivate Gutenverse and, on the new dummy page, try deleting the patterns one by one to identify which one is causing the issue.

Once you find the problematic pattern, you can change or remove it on the actual page temporarily while we work on replicating and fixing the issue.
