So I renewed the certificate tonight, then proceeded to update to the newest version of WordPress when I got a critical error. I had to restore a backup from the day before which didn’t have the new certificate info on it. Anyway, now I am trying to renew with the plugin again and it won’t let me finish.

    I get the following error:

    Something went wrong.

Could not load settings. Try Again

I try again, but get the same error. Even with using the “Reset” link at the top right. Is it maybe not allowing me to regenerate another certificate?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hello. I have experienced a similar issue in the past (“Could not load settings. Try Again”) where the plugin running within WordPress Admin on my site threw an error because it could not access a resource. The reason it could not access the resource was because the host site didn’t have a valid SSL cert, so you have a chicken & egg situation.

I found a way to make the browser ignore cert errors and the plugin managed to run successfully. I am running linux so I added a flag to the command line like this:

    /usr/bin/google-chrome-stable %U --ignore-certificate-errors

Windows / Mac have their own alternatives that you can Google for. I hope that’s useful.

    Hi @jessmfelt,

Your website currently has a valid SSL certificate installed and loads correctly over HTTPS/SSL as a result, are you still experiencing these issues at the moment?

Just let me know, we would be glad to assist further if needed.

Thanks a lot for sharing your input here as well; much appreciated!

    Kind regards, Jarno
