Unable to generate sitemap

    The plugin is installed on a multisite wordpress installation which three sites. It works ok on my main website and generated sitemap months ago and now hs just updated the sitemap successfully The same is true of another of the sites.

    However, when I went to update the site map of my third site, it stated a map had not been generated but failed to do so when I clicked on generate and the following message appeared
    “An error occurred: Unable to generate sitemap. Could not write to file. ”

    What do I need to do to correct this – in simple steps please?

    It sounds like the permissions which allow or deny file creation may have changed since before the creation of the third site. Would you or your hosting provider be able to check the permissions to make certain WordPress has write permissions to the directory where the sitemaps are located?
