    Hi.

First off I must say, I’m liking WordPress in general and its ability’s and its ease of use. How ever I’ve gotten my self in to a pickle.

Setup went fine and everything was perfect. Except- after entering the domain and going to the site- the domain became the IP of the server that it was hosted on. I found, what I think is the setting or box to change the IP back to the domain nam: Located in settings –> general. I changed these two options to my domain and it took me back to the login screen.

    Something odd happens next.

I login normally and come to the dashboard. As I click on Settings on the bottom left- I come to the login screen again. (A loop) The address bar has this infor:

    https://domain.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%0A%0F%2F38.98.03.100%2Fwp-admin%2Foptions-general.php&reauth=1

    **Changed Ip and domain name.

How ever I can add, delete, edit: posts and pages all with out this problem. I just can’t seem to enter the settings tab now. I’m kind of confused??

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advanced!
    Kyle

  • Hi Kyle,

It sounds as if you may have an .htaccess file causing the redirect. If you have and .htaccess file, rename it and try again. If the problem is corrected than you know it’s a re-write rule in the htaccess.

    Tim,
Thank you for your reply. After posting my last post… I got to thinking about my domain name forwarding. I went to my domain holder (GoDaddy) and I realized that I didn’t direct it properly. After a few changes and a couple of hours of sleep- everything seems to be running fine now.

Not 100% sure why, but… Oh well.

    Thanks!!!

No worries! I’m glad you got it resolved.
