Unable to Import Attributes for Simple Products

    My products have seven distinct attributes that need to be uniform for all products. The importing feature works well as almost all content uploads as expected. However, the attributes do not import, which is the most critical part of the process. As it stands, I would need to go into each product and manually add the attributes. Are there settings that I need to ensure are in place to allow for attributes to import? If not, what would you recommend?
