Unable to insert banner image with media manager

When I want to insert an image into my ad using the WordPress media manager (whether selecting from existing galleries or uploading from computer), I then click the “Insert into post” button, the thickbox goes away but no image URL is inserted into the text field.

I had to FTP my images to the banners folder first and then select one with the dropdown, however this is not comfortable.

Maybe an incompatibility because there is a new media manager in WordPress 3.5? I noticed the insert image dialog still uses the old WordPress media upload manager.
