  • Hello,

It looks like that your site’s structure is a bit different from the normal.

While your site is loaded from https://your-domain.org.uk and plugins and themes are loaded normally https://your-domain.org.uk/wp-content, the WordPress core files are loaded from https://your-domain.org.uk/wp

We’ve updated our end to match these. Can you please try reconnecting Jetpack again and see if that helps?

If the issue is still there, please go to WP Admin > Settings, please let us know two values:

    – Site Address (URL)
    – WordPress Address (URL)

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, that didn’t work…

    the URLs are:

    WordPress Address https://1stabram.org.uk/wp
    Site Address https://1stabram.org.uk

The locations are dictated by the hosting provider, but did work fine in staging. I also think I may have removed the account(s) which this is tied to. I’m not precious about the data that’s on there either, so if removing *.1stabram.org.uk/* from JetPack is the solution, that’s absolutely fine.

    Thanks

    Hey @1stabram,

Thanks for the clarification. Can you please delete Jetpack entirely on the live site, and then reinstall and reconnect it? Here’s our guidance on doing this:

Let us know how it goes.

Just following up here to note we resolved this via email. The issue was unrelated to your WordPress install, and was something we had to address on our side.

This site was previously connected to WordPress.com (with a different directory structure), and we encountered issues when we attempted to reconcile those changes on our side – this led to the error message you were seeing.

To be clear: Jetpack supports WordPress installs where WP_CONTENT_DIR and WP_PLUGIN_DIR have been modified, and WordPress has its own directory. I’m aware there is conflicting information on our own forums regarding this, and I apologize.

For example, you can do this:

    – run WordPress from a site’s root domain at example.com (apps/example/public)
    – give WordPress its own directory (apps/example/public/wp/)
    – move wp-content and plugins (apps/example/public/wp/my-content-folder and apps/example/public/wp/my-content-folder/plugins respectively)

If you’ve done all of those things correctly, and encounter an issue connecting Jetpack – please let us know. We’re always happy to help! ??
