• Hi,

I see a few other people are having this issue and sometimes their posts are marked as ‘Resolved’ but I am failing to find the solution in the thread and the threads are marked as closed to comments, hence I am starting a new thread, I hope that is OK.

Just recently I started receiving the error ‘Unable to insert download log entry in database’ on the four digital products on our site, meaning the customer doesn’t get a download link that works.

The four downloadable products are new to the site, added since migrating to the final hosting so the issue may have been caused by migrating the site but until now hasn’t been an issue?!

My ‘wc_download_log’ is called ‘wpmh_wc_download_log’ all my db table names are prefixed with ‘wpmh_’, I dont know whether this is a recent change (at migration) and possible cause of the issue! On one thread I read (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/unable-to-insert-download-log-entry-in-database/page/2/#post-11985149) @wphastings was convinced this was the cause.

Woocommerce have said a possible solution would be to rename the ‘wpmh_wc_download_log’ table in my database, deactivate and reactive woocommerce which should recreate the table, hopefully with the correct name. Before I try that I wanted to ask, probably a simple question, will renaming a table in my DB or deactivating and reactivating woocommerce risk losing all my products or anything else untoward, I really need to avoid this obviously and I would obviously make a full site and db backup before attempting this via phpmyadmin.

Is renaming a database table name as straight forward as this video says (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ompnBfAP43A).

Any insight would be appreciated as I design and build websites using WordPress, I dont have a lot of experience of phpmyadmin etc.

    cheers
