When I try activating my plugins I do have a problem. After uploading plugin I am ok up to the installation point. I get a message that installation was successful. However, when I try to activate I get an error message stating that plugin needs a header.
I would appreciate any help as to what I need to do.
    Thank you

What plugin? And what exactly is the error message?

    Destination folder already exists. /home/ben1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jquery.cycle_/

    Plugin Install Failed.

Unfortunately I cannot get the original error message. The error message above shows up every time I try to reactivate the plugin. The original error message was to the best of my ability that I can remember was there was no header. But it states that installation was successful, and when I try to activate it gives the “header” error message.
The name of the plugin is Jquery cycle.
However, these messages occurs not only with this plugin but most of the plugins I try to install.

Have you checked that these plugins are compatible with 2.9?

Yes they are. The theme I am presently using is Suffusion, which is one of the themes recommended by WP. The Jquery plugin is recommended by this theme. I do feel however, the theme or plugin is not the problem. I went to my host site (Hostgator) and uploaded the plugin there. Still not successful.
I thank you so much for responding to me. Hopefully I can figure this out, even though I am not confident. Not very knowledgeable in these matters.
