Unable to link Facebook Auto Publish app with Facebook

Hello, I am trying to link the Facebook Auto Publish plugin with my Facebook account and I keep getting the following error message:

Unable to authorize the facebook application. Please check your curl/fopen and firewall settings

I have checked my firewall and Facebook is allowed, I have no problem logging into Facebook. I also checked with my host to make sure Curl and Fopen were activated on my domain and they are. I know I am entering the right credentials because I am logged into Facebook when I try to make this connection happen. I am using Chrome and working on a Macbook Pro. Please let me know what I can try to get this plugin to talk with my Facebook account, thank you!
