• I am using PaperCuts theme. My blog is rebekahnyakairu.com.

About a month ago, I was unable to load an image into my blog post. This issue still remains. When I asked for support, I was told to deactivate the widgets. While this worked, it is not a long term solution.

Every time I write a blog post I have to deactivate the widgets, add the image, and then re-activate the widgets again.

What is a long term solution to this problem???

    Thanks!

    Rebekah

  • Deactivating the widgets every time you want to upload an image doesn’t sound like a great solution.

It would be much better to figure out why this is happening.

First things first, are you running the latest WordPress version?
Is your theme and all of the plugins up to date?

If not, make a backup of your site and then update everything. Then go ahead and test the image upload once again to see if that fix it.

If all your WP version, your theme and all the plugins are up to date, then it’s time to go into detective mode and see which plugin is causing the issue. I assume that when you said widgets, you really meant plugins (widgets are plugins anyway). These little guys are usually the cause of grief.

Deactivate all of your plugins and upload an image. If you can now upload an image, then you know that one of the plugins is bad.

Upload your plugins one by one and do the test with each until you find the culprit.
When you do find it, delete that plugin and do not use it anymore. Come back here, to let us know which one it is and we can help you find a better one.

There are a lot of plugins out there and some of them are not that great.

Thank you! How do I make a backup of my site?

There are a few plugins you can use:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/backupwordpress/

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/backwpup/

These will be helpful, but if you don’t know what to do with the backups in case something goes wrong, you may want to hire a developer to help you out.

Thank you for your help! I was able to resolve the issue after updating the plugins.

    Thanks!
