• Hi there,

My site, themostfunniest.com is not opening at all all of a sudden. I have not done any updates myself. It was working fine till last week and im back from a vacation and its not loading. Im unable to login to my WordPress Admin panel as well as it shows the same error message when I try access the WP login page.

Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Widget::_construct() in /home3/…./plugins/contentad/includes/widget.class.php on line 6

Im able to access the file system through the hosts admin panel. Is there something that i can do to just clear this mess??

  • There were some changes in WordPress 4.4 that effected WP_Widget. It looks like your “contentad” plugin hasn’t been updated to be compatible with those changes.

Oh okay. So is there a workaround to get into the wp login at least so I could disable/upgrade the plugin/widget?

I can access the files using my Hostgator account. Is there a way I can disable this plugin by editing some code over there?

You should be able to disable the plugin simply by renaming its folder to something else (because then WP won’t be able to find its files anymore, and will force-deactivate it).
