Lots of people were reporting problems with the way the PDF viewer was rendering (or not rendering) in IE, so this conditional comment will give IE viewers the straight PDF wrapped in an object tag, rather than the fancy Google Doc’s viewer.

At any rate, this shouldn’t have anything to do with any problems you are having in Chrome.

    Hi Pat,

The issue is the PDF’s show in IE, but NOT in Chrome. This is certainly the issue I am having.

Can you shed any light please?

    Apart from that, great plugin!

    Thanks

Sorry, I got hung up explaining the bit about the source code quirk.

This is probably related to permissions in Chrome. Does it work in Firefox and Safari? If so, the problem is definitely with Chrome’s preferences.

If it does not load in Firefox or Safari, the problem is probably with Google accessing the PDF. Is the PDF accessible on the open internet, not behind a corporate firewall or something funky?

Can you send me some links or screenshots? There’s not much light to shed when I don’t understand the problem myself.

I don’t know what to tell you, it looks just fine to me.
Maybe check your browser settings, or force clear your cache and reload?

    I’m using Chrome 25.0.1364.152

I can assure you, the PDF renders perfectly on any computer I have access to using Chrome.

It is clear to me that this is an isolated problem with browser settings rather than a problem with the plugin, so I am marking this topic as “Resolved”

Strange- The issue seems limited to Chrome on Ubuntu.
I tried with Chrome on Windows 7 and it seems to work.
Both OSes are running Chrome 25.

    same problem, chrome on OSX
