Unable to log in to Admin URL

    I received an email that my installation is complete. However, the URL and Admin URL take me to the same site and I do not see an option to log in to access my new WordPress site.

    I’m new to this and am not sure sure what steps to take to get to the backend of WordPress to write my first blog and play with the themes.

    Can someone please help?

  • did u try /wp-login.php ?

    creativemind1 is spot on, thus you should be able to see a login page going to:

    https://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-login.php

    or (the more typical way):

    https://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin

    If neither of these two ways gets you a login page then, hmm, I’m not sure what would be your next troubleshooting steps. Being that it’s a new install. Meaning you’re using only the default WordPress items and no 3rd party themes and/or plugins — that can cause these kinds of issues by the way when folks update their sites.

    Thanks for the responses. Perhaps my site was too new when I first went to /wp-admin.

    I’m now able to log in by going directly to wp-login.php (this worked when the wp-admin wasn’t) and wp-admin.
