Unable to login my admin area

    Since 2 days I am unable to login admin area of website. I am entering right password but it gives different errors every time on entering password like …..

    1. Wrong Password
    2. Password field can’t be blank
    3. Some time it says your IP is blocked

    Multiple times I have entered “forgot password” . With user name / mail id but verification mail never comes.

    Add to this, after few failed login attempts, website as well as admin area goes off. Browser says webpage is not available. If i tries to open website from mobile or other PC, error say, website not available.

    After some time say 30 minutes, website as well as admin page opens, but I am unable to go to dashboard due to password error.

  • Are you trying multiple browsers? (even when on different devices)?

    Are your browsers up to date?

    Can you login to the cPanel or FTP site?

    What operating system(s) are you using?

    I have activated windows 8.1. Updated chrome. (multiple times i have deleted history, cookies etc)

    I am able to login to Cpanel of webhost. I updates file of website through Cpanel file manager which takes me to link https://joyloan.in/_file-manager/elfinder.php?access=116.203.75.246_9f8271a7ac068e2a04b20a9baba27bd129121ece.

    I am able to see files, data base etc.

    I am not professional so I don’t know what to do with this.

    On some body’s advice, I checked in PHPmyadmin>database>User>

    In this saction my admin user id is right but there is a long password showing “$P$BrhK8Z7/QQpCWkpVPnhjMB23KBsGhR.”. I have never kept this password. Though I have tried to use this password as well, but again my website as well as https://www.joyloan.in/wp-login.php gets locked with above mentioned errors.

    After some half hour website starts to work itself and https://www.joyloan.in/wp-login.php starts to load. on trying with different passwords it again gets locked and website also goes down

    Try to Re-Install WordPress. This would fix the corrupted files , I think some files are corrupted or your Database is damaged.

    That password is md5 hash of the original so you would never be able to read the original password. What you can try is to rename the wp-config file to something like wp-config.php.bak and then try to access the wp-admin for your site. Let me know if that helps or if the problem persists.

    Hi Akash I don’t know how to reinstall wordpress keeping my content same. I am afraid, I may loose my content or setting etc. Though I have taken back up of content folder as well as database, but I am afraid I myself may not be able to install it.

    Aniket, I have opened file manager I have renamed wp-config

    Now it is asking for user id and password. Whole site has gone OFF.

    When I am trying to rename file back to wp-config, it says unable to contact backend

    I am able to login now. Did it with Method 3: Through MySQL Command Line.

    I did’t who what md5 was, but I typed my password in md5 generator. I copy pasted that code in sql user password.
