Unable to login to Dashboard

    Hi everyone,

    I browsed a couple of old posts and tried all recommended solutions yet I am unable to log-in to my Dashboard. The Error message is as below:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare install_wtwp() (previously declared in D:\Hosting\10175901\html\thedentalspa\wp-content\install.php:36) in D:\Hosting\10175901\html\thedentalspa\wp-content\install.php on line 93

    1) Tried renaming Plugin Folder and all Themes so that my WP installation uses the default theme TwentyThirteen
    2) Manually updated WP version

    Can anyone please help? Need to log-in to Dashboard!

    Now I am trying to once again RENAME Plugin Folder and DELETE Theme but my Hosting Provider GoDaddy does not allow me to do so. I receive following messages:

    You do not have access to rename this file.

    You do not have access to delete this file.

    What do I do now?

    Well, I could Rename both PLUGINS and MAGEE THEME and this is what happens:

    1) I get the same FATAL ERROR while trying to log-in – Fatal error: Cannot redeclare install_wtwp() (previously declared in D:\Hosting\10175901\html\thedentalspa\wp-content\install.php:36) in D:\Hosting\10175901\html\thedentalspa\wp-content\install.php on line 93

    2) Additionally, the site frontend also blanks out. I now see a WHITE SCREEN. Earlier the website looked PERFECT to a site visitor. Just an ADMIN wasn’t able to log-in.

    3) Really getting nervous as there is no provision in GoDaddy C-Panel to restore to previous version of WordPress.

    Can you login to your site/server using FTP? I would recommend to download a fresh copy of WordPress and upload it to your server, overwriting everything except the wp-config.php file and the wp-content folder.

    Again: do NOT re-upload the wp-config.php file or the wp-content folder!

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for the reply. Although I had done what you recommended, I have once again done the same. No luck!

    Could there be something that I am missing?

    Site’s running again from what I can see….?

    Yes Mark, I enabled the Theme (Plugins are still disabled). Hence the site is once again functional! However am still unable to log-in to dashboard.

    Issue resolved by installing a fresh version!
