Hi everyone. I had a website on my url at https://www.hostalion.com. The client wanted an accordion slider as a landing page, which I set up in a subdirectory hostalion.com/index, while making edits.

Today I decided to go live with the site. The idea is to have the landing page on hostalion.com and to have the wordpress webpage on hostalion.com/index.

I followed instructions to move the wordpress core files, as well as the content, plugins, etc (all website related files) to hostalion.com/index. First I changed the URL′s to point to the new folder -> hostalion.com/index.

However, I forgot to turn the permalinks off, before proceeding to move all of the wordpress core files and website content over to the new Index folder.

The files and folders moved over, and upon going to my new url, I am able to see the first page of the site, but I am unable to click to anywhere else on the site, or to log into the admin section.

This is the message I am getting:

    404 Not Found
The resource requested could not be found on this server! Powered By LiteSpeed Web Server
LiteSpeed Technologies is not responsible for administration and contents of this web site!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    Wm

    You could try –

Restore from backup, (if you made backups)

    Else,

    log on to phpmyadmin

    export the database SQL

Open in your fav text editor

    Run a find and replace

    Find [original/file/path]

    Replace [new/file/path]

go back to phpmyadmin, delete the database and import the one you just fixed.

Takes a bit of time but worked for me when I made the same mistake. Not sure if the changes to wp over the last 18 months would prevent this kind of fix.

First backup the database and all the wp files. If it doesn’t work you don’t want to be in THAT position.
