Unable to login with IP Access lists

Hi there, I followed the FAQ and blacklisted *.*.*.*. Although my IP address is whitelisted, when I try to login I get the message:

We’re sorry, you are not allowed to proceed
Our server stopped processing your request. Your request looks suspicious or similar to automated requests from spam posting software.

If you believe you should be able to perform this request, please let us know.

Did I miss out a setting? I want to only allow logins from whitelisted IP addresses. Thanks
