• An issue suddenly appeared with 3 WordPress sites I maintain, attempting to log into the dashboard for updates to site results in “website not secure”. Issue appears on all 3 sites regardless of browser or platform. I have sorted through numerous forums and have found no solution. Unable to access dashboard for installation of plug-in remedy. Any assistance and you are entitled to my kingdom.

  • You can try adding /wp-admin/ to the URL and see if you can get in that way. I tried that and seen the login page.

Sorry, did not help. I can also see the login page, but it is only after I enter the logon and password that I see the “Website not secure” in the URL address window. It appears regardless of browser, and I have even tried on both Apple and Microsoft platforms. Very frustrating.

You said, “attempting to log into the dashboard for updates to site results in “website not secure”.”, so I thought you were having login issues.

That message in the browser bar is just to let you know you are not running https. It shouldn’t hurt the login itself. You should be able to reach your dashboard.

Your Web Host should be able to help you switch over to https if you wish to do that.

CloudFlare’s one click SSL used to offer free certificates for their users if you want to go that route. It’s free and the page linked above explains what you are seeing in your browser.
