• Environment:

    • WP multisite with sub domains config
    • Running WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin
    • Sub sites are mapped to unique domains

    Problem description:

    • Unable to logout any user when trying to logout from a sub site with a mapped domain
    • Able to logout through sub site when not using mapped domain for that site (using its default sub domain address)
    • Able to logout freely in all site when disabling WPMU DM plugin in all network
    • Issue does not occur on main site (its address is the default, not mapped)
    • Issue does not occur on Network Dashboard
    • Logging in is unaffected and works fine in all situations
    • Also tried to disable all other plugins that has anything to do with users, logging out/in and registrations
    • Issue might have started to occur after network disabling WPMU DM plugin, site enabling it (for a sub site), site disabling it and finally network re-enabling it again

    Any thoughts?

Do you have the WPMU domain mapping plugin or the WordPress MU domain mapping plugin?

Your plugin. The “WordPress MU Domain Mapping”. Sorry if I wrote it differently, tried to shorten it.

Are you trying to log out of the mapped domain or the unmapped subsite?

Trying to log out of the mapped domain of a sub site.
Any kind of log out attempt from an unmapped domain is working fine.

Are you running the dashboard under the mapped domain?

    (@rechazame)

Yes, both front and back ends of subsites are using the mapped domains. On sites not using the mapped domain, logout works fine.

I haven’t heard of that before. What error are you getting?

    Thread Starter rechazame

    (@rechazame)

It doesn’t show any error message. When logging out from a mapped domain site, it takes me to the login screen of WP and shows the “You are now logged out” green message, only that the user is still connected. If I press the “Back to SiteName” link, or enter the site again, I can freely navigate the dashboard and the admin bar shown the user is still connected.

I remember Network Deactivating the WordPress MU Domain Mapping and then activating it on a specific subsite, then deactivated it and Network Activating it again. I think that had something to do with it, otherwise I can’t recall any changes that might have triggered this.

    Rings any bell?

I doubt that has anything to do with it. Functionally there is no difference in which method it’s activated under.

Do you have a “remember me” plugin installed?

    (@rechazame)

    No, I don’t.

Can access to the website help you help me?

Can access to the website help you help me?

Probably not. Have you tried it with all plugins (including network ones) deactivated and one of the Twenty* themes active?

    Thread Starter rechazame

    (@rechazame)

Yes to both. Did it just now after reading your message. It did not solve the issue.

If it is that of a dead end I guess I will just reinstall WP as with other similar installation I haven’t encounter the issue.

It could have been nice knowing what exactly happened but I get from you the notion that this issue can not be linked to anything so..
