Unable to open wp-login and wp-signup

  • I lost my database and once established that it could not be restored or regained I created a new database with the same name and same user – and then ran the installation again. The installation came up with “SUCCESS”, but then failed to open the wp-login.

    Actually wp-login redirects to wp-signup (as a new installation), but that also fails to open…

    I tried to rename the theme folder and delete all the plugins as suggested in other threads, but same result… It simply gives the standard IE error message: “This page cannot open”

    How can I get my site up and running again? Thank you in advance for helping me out.

  • Since you cannot restore your database, why not try starting with a clean copy of wordpress? Maybe it will solve your problem.

    Helium, thanks for your input.

    I tried it, but get the same result – or worse; Now wp-admin/install.php will not even open… I am not having much luck with this….

    Any ideas?
