  • The Video block needs the direct URL of the video file, typically ending in .mp4, .mov, etc.

Those Google Drive URLs are not direct links to the video files: they take you to a Google web page where Google has embedded the video. So the Video block cannot work with these links.

Instead of the Video block, get the video’s embed code from Google Drive and use the Custom HTML block. There are also 3rd-party plugins that help with embedding Googe Drive videos both individually and as a gallery:

    Thanks George!

Unfortunately, as I mentioned in my lengthy description, the Quick and Easy FAQs plugin that we’re using increasingly, with the inclusions of videos doesn’t support iframes, though I have now reached out to them to ask if there is a way to make them work.

I have also installed Integrate Google Drive plugin, but so far no luck with the links provided from that either.

I was kind of hoping that there were some kinds of parameter on Google Drive links that could overcome the problem, but nothing I’ve managed to find works.

I might have to bite the bullet and drop the FAQs plugin, which will be a real shame.

    Thanks again, Mark
