• i was trying to update some posts on my blog and found that when hitting the update button it says it is saving but just sits there and never saves. i am updated to the newest version of wordpress and my site health check says everything is ok. i have noted that i am not on the recommended version of PHP but my host does not have any option for any php above 7.1. i have been told that i need to contact support about that but they are taking forever to respond. is the php version the issue? or just a coincidence?

so far i have disabled all of my plugins and the problem persists. not sure what the next step should be.

it appears installing classic editor has fixed my issue but how can i remedy this and use the blocks?? i really preferred the new editor to the classic one.

The same thing is happening to me. I’ve just installed WordPress 5.4.

I’ve opened the developer tools and I get this error after clicking Publish:

Access to fetch at 'https://<my_site_url>/wp-json/wp/v2/pages/33/autosaves?_locale=user' from origin 'https://<my_site_url>' has been blocked by CORS policy: Request header field x-wp-nonce is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Headers in preflight response.
