This needs to be fixed ASAP for safety reasons. For some reason, now that I migrated to the new shipping plugin (from tax & shipping), it is IMPOSSIBLE to remove my name from a label’s Return Address.

I have a business name, why is this being forced on me!?!?!?

I tried setting the name field blank, and it saved, but then just showed my name again anyway?

I tried setting the name field “-“, and it saved, and it showed “-” as it should on the label creation page. However when I actually paid for the label it had my name on it!

    Why is this happening!?

    Hi @abbiedoobie,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues. If I understand you correctly you are saying that in the Origin Address ( Your store’s address ), you feel the Name field should not be part of the label? This does make sense yes, specially if you entered a value in the Company field.

Let us look into this and get back to you with a solution or fix.

    Thanks!

Correct, I think at least if I understand correctly.

In the original plugin, whatever I entered into the “Return Address” fields during the “Create Label” flow was used verbatim (after validation of course). If I left my name blank, the label had my name blank.

In the new plugin, whatever I enter into the “Return Address” fields within the “Create Shipping Label” sub-page appears to be partially ignored. Or at least the Name field is for sure. The label still comes out with my full name on the label.

I am just asking for the original functionality back, as I should be able to hide my name if desired, especially if a business name is present.

    Hello abbiedoobie,

    Thank you for your feedback.

Our team is investigating this, and we’ll update you as soon as we have more information.
If you have any additional details, feel free to share them.

    Have a great day!

Hi @abbiedoobie, just letting you know that we released 1.1.5 which contains a fix for this. As long as you have a company name entered in the origin address then that will be used instead of the name field.

Thank you very much, the issue is resolved, albeit there is a tiny leftover interface issue that I think should be fixed if possible.

You can’t leave the name field blank, it just reverts to whatever was previously entered. Since this won’t print so long as a business name is there, it’s not a big deal, but it is strange.

    What I entered (entirely blank):

What was shown post-validation (note the “-” which was my entry in the name field up until today).

edit: I cant add images here for some reason.
