I’ve been running backups weekly for at least a year now. Unfortunately I’ve run into a situation where I need to restore from one of these and I’ve discovered that I get a failure when trying to attempt this:

    updraft_send_command: error: error ()

I have my backups stored on Google Drive. Having searched through other forum posts here’s what I’ve tried/determined:

    – this doesn’t appear to be a timeout issue as the failure happens almost immediately
    – I downloaded one set of backups and then tried to do the manual process, first by uploading via ftp, which unfortunately Updraft didn’t seem to recognize after trying to rescan local folder, and then by clicking “upload backup files” which seemed to work however I don’t see any change in the available backups
    – The only thing in the logs from the backups are two warnings: “0000.705 (0) Output: zip warning: binziptest/test.zip not found or empty” and “0191.778 (0) [Warning] A very large file was encountered: ” pointing to a previous backup which I have since deleted. But at the end of the log it says: “0778.490 (1) The backup apparently succeeded (with warnings) and is now complete”
    – I made sure that php error logging was turned on following these instructions. When I run the command again and see the error, there is nothing appearing in the logs.

    Other relevant details:
    – Backups are being stored on Google Drive
    – Version of Updraft is v1.22.6
    – Version of WordPress is v5.9.5 (I’d like to upgrade which is one of the reasons for trying to confirm I can actually restore from backup first)

    Hi,

Did you click on the “Rescan local storage” link? This will update the backup list.

Also, please update to latest version 1.22.23.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

Any other ideas or updates? Unfortunately I still can’t restore from backups which also makes it pretty risky to try and even update things or do any other diagnoses for risk of making things even worse.

It looks likes something is blocking the connection between UpdraftPlus and Google Drive. Can you check with your host? If you go into Google Drive is the backup that you are trying to restore there?
