Unable to Retrieve Email Followers

I have been working on a client’s website and installed Jetpack to enable subscriptions. Looking through their WordPress.com account, When I try to look at their active followers all it shows is an ‘error retrieving followers’ notice. This happened earlier when I installed the plugin, but I had assumed it would work itself out after moving their followers from the client’s old WordPress.com site to the new static site w/ Jetpack. Still giving me the same error message.

Site shows up fine in their account outside this area. Already tried accessing the XML-RPC php page and everything looks fine there. Not sure if this is a plugin or WordPress.com issue.
