• I had replied to a previous post that was having similar issues but now seem to have to start a whole new thread.

To clarify, when I am in the Classic Editor Visual mode and make any edits in the filed then click Update. After updating and the post edit screen reloads the post is unedited. If I switch to the Classic Editor Text mode, make the same edits then click update, they are saved. I can switch to the Visual mode as see the edits their too.

  • Thank you for opening a new thread ??

I am sharing below some of the information you shared previously for reference.

It looks like it might be theme-related. If the theme is Twenty Twenty-three is active, the plug-in works (saves) fine but if I use Twenty Twenty-One (which the site is built on) it does not work.

    Other stats:

    The Site Health is good.
    WordPress 6.3
    Classic Editor Version 1.6.3
    No standalone Gutenberg plugin

    (..)

If I go into an existing post in the Classic Editor Visual mode, edit the content in the field, then click Update. The changes are not saved. It reverts back to the previous content. If I switch to Classic Editor Text mode, edit the content in the field and click Update, the changes are saved.

I seem unable to reproduce what you describe on my end. Just to confirm, do you have any plugins active besides the Classic Editor one?

Yes there are a number of other plug-ins. I can try deactivating them to see if I can figure out if one of them might be the issue.

It looks like it might be the Options for Twenty Twenty-One plug-in. More testing to do.

Thanks @lesliekirk – that sounds promising. If things do work otherwise with the ‘Options for Twenty Twenty One’ plugin deactivated I’d agree that’s most likely the cause.

If that’s the case – I’d leave it deactivated for now – but you can contact the developer of the plugin to let them know about the bug.
