this is the second attempt to update my wordpress from version 4.2.6 to 4.41. Both attempts have appeared to succeed but after upgrading I am unable to publish any new posts – they end up as DRAFT:

Website looks ok but I am unable to add posts of pages – “publish” button just swirls and hangs or saves post as draft.

I have now updated to 4.4.1 MANUALLY via FTP.
I am using the Gameplan Theme and version 4.4.1 of wordpress.

    I’ve updated all my plugins
I have tried swopping the theme and deactivating plugins.

I’ve narrowed it down to the “INTENSE WORDPRESS PLUGIN” but I am unable to contact the authors as I do not have a purchase code as it was purchased by a previous webmaster of our site ??

Just wondering if anybody had similar issues with updating WORDPRESS and the “INTENSE WORDPRESS PLUGIN”

  • If you have actually narrowed down the problem to that particular plugin, then I believe you should try to find a way to contact the developers, perhaps by purchasing a new license yourself. Sooner or later you will find yourself with the same or some other problem in your hands and then it might be even more critical.

Also it would not make much sense to debug and mess with the plugin’s code because then you will be able to follow its updates.

If this is a plugin you rely upon then I suggest you buy yourself a license once and for all. You can always demand the license from the old owner but I guess this is not actually an option for you right now.

    thanks for the reply.

I am looking to buy the license for myself over the next day or so.
Hopefully I will be able to sort some troubleshooting then via the plugin developers.

I have purchased my own licence and contacted the developers of the “INTENSE WORDPRESS PLUGIN” . The issue will be resolved by installing updated plugin they say.

I have tried this out on a test version of my site and it seems to work ok. With updated plugin, I am now able to save posts etc.

Hopefully this will also work with my live site – going to update in a day or two.
