Unable to select/add categories while creating new posts

    Dear support team,

    strange things happens on my site. While trying to create new posts I cannot select or add new categories. I’ve tried by deactivating all plugins except woocommerce and still running into the same problem. WP Version 5.5.1 in use.

    The only workaround is to add/switch the category while using the quick editor mode in the backend. Then I am able to set the category.

    Do you have any answers, why this happens or solution to solve?

    Dear support team,

    I think it was an issue within wordpress vers. 5.5.1 because after update to 5.5.3 the problem is gone and categories are now avaiable to choose and add new.
