• I’ve been having this problem for a while, and had the same problem with 3.5.2.

I can upload a new header image and it will show up in my media library. However, after uploading or selecting an image, I just get a blank page.* No header image shows up.

I’ve tried this with several different themes, I have no plugins currently activated, and the problem persists if I clear my cache. I have also tried changing directory permissions, to no avail.

I’m very confused and hoping someone can help. Thank you!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

I have now tried everything except the last suggestion. I did, however, do a full reinstall of wordpress when I first had this problem. Like I said, this is very confusing for me.

I’m going to reinstall wordpress again, just in case.

Nope. Same problem after uninstalling and reinstalling wordpress. Everything else seems to be working fine — is there something I could try with images elsewhere on the site to narrow down the cause?

Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.

I get this error when I upload a new image to the media library. In wordpress it says “HTTP error,” but when I refresh the media page the image has uploaded correctly.

[Fri Aug 02 22:24:21 2013] [error] File does not exist: /home/lemuslaw/public_html/500.shtml, referer: https://www.lemuslawgroup.com/wp/wp-admin/media-new.php

No errors when I attempt to select a header.

There are assorted other errors, but I’ve been poking around doing all sorts of things trying to pinpoint this problem. If you think it will help, I can upload the entire list.

Thank you for your help so far; I really appreciate it.

    I’m using Weaver II Pro
    Current release of WP 3.6

    New website, no plugins.

    I created a custom header.
I selected browse then uploaded it
I then selected ‘skip cropping and publish’ (it was 940 X 200)
I end up with a blank screen… left sidebar is there, just nothing showing in the display area.

I tried again but instead, I said to crop. Still a blank screen.

I changed the size of my custom header to 940 X 188 and upload it. Still a blank screen.

I selected the header from the media file (where the uploads were listed.) Still a blank screen.

I went back and just selected one of the ‘standard’ headers offered with weaver pro and it works fine.

I have several websites and I checked the size of the header on one of those sites (www.worldwidewebsitewasteland.com which is fine.) I’m able to change headers on that site.

    The problem site is wda.afrankdiscussion.com
    Any help?

@the bean – You can get support from your theme’s vendors forums. Note that we do not support commercial products.

Went there…. was told this is a standard wordpress header upload. Has nothing to do with weaver.
I use weaver all the time for every website I build. I think the only difference is none of my wp sites are at version 3.6. How can I install WP 3.5.1 (I KNOW I have no problems with that version and Weaver.)
