Unable to select templates pages…?

  • When I try to edit a page in WP I notice there isn’t an option to select a template for a page. It seems the only way I can do this in twentyseventeen is via Appearance > Customize > Theme Options, but that seems to apply to the entire site.

    Is it possible to have some pages one column and other two columns? I’m a little new to WP, so I’m not sure if I’m missing something here or if this necessitates a child theme.

    I have the same issue. I need to add a single column page template but I don’t know how to do it.
    I have read many posts, went throught the 10 pages of this support forum and couldn’t understand how to do it the proper way.
    I would appreciate any help.

    I’d really like to use this theme, but I can’t understand why there is no option to make full width pages, especially since the sidebar is not included on the pages, just empty space. Please add flexibility for pages.

    I’d love to be able to select a page template as well, especially since the Blog page that came with 2017 shows two column instead of only one. I have selected the one column layout in the customizer.

    It would be very nice if we could have two page patterns when creating a page.
    At the moment, we have the choice between one or two columns, but this applies to all pages.

    If someone manages to do it, thanks to share some feedback.

    I saw that same article. At this point I’m thinking that this is gonna entail a child theme where the option to select the template is added at the page level.

    I just found this article. Maybe it can be of help.

    What a lost opportunity. Some nice features but I look forward to twentyeighteen, can I suggest some built in custom templates, or at least column configuration?
