unable to send mail

    Hi. Just recently downloaded the plugin and love the customization options and all. However, I have two problems:

    1. Minor: After sending email the page does not refresh. How do I fix it?

    2. Major: My host (Dreamhost) only allows outgoing emails with the From field local to Dreamhost (for example: [email protected] or something like that). So I need to change the value that goes into the From field. I don’t mind hard-coding it even, directly into PHP, but not sure where to do that. Any help will be appreciated.

    For the record, I would like to use either the phpMail or the wpMail asmy sending option.

    Ok, I think I solved the major problem (#2), just hard coded the custom header right into the PHP file. Its an ugly hack, but it seems to work. Would love to know a better and more elegant way, though.

    Still – any help about the page refresh would be really great!

    #1 is already something you can do. Scroll down to the bottom of the send options page and there is a refresh thing.

    #2 may be something I can add as an option on the ‘send options’ page.

    If you want me to sort the dreamhost problem can you contact me through the plugin website so I can send you an update for testing.

    Just to clarify, it’s not that it has to be a DREAMHOST email, it’s that the email has to match your domain.

    So if you’re on mycooldomain.com, then the from emails should be [email protected] ??

    Jetpack gets around this by using the [email protected] email

    What I propose is adding a ‘from email’ field to the send options page. You can then put is whatever you like and the plugin will pretend to send the message from the email address you chose. If you leave the field blank it will send the message from the email address the visitor entered on the form.

    Thanks for the response. For #1 – I know there is this option on the bottom of the page to refresh after certain number of seconds. My problem is – I set it up, and it does not. I will contact you on quick-plugins.com for the fix. Thanks!!

    I am not sure about that. I hard-coded a generic “dreamhost” email for now, which does not even exist as far as I can tell, and it certainly has nothing to do with the domain name I am hosting there. Yet it still works! So I assume it has to be something Dreamhost recognizes, either matching the domain(s), or “dreamhost”, and possibly there are other valid options which can get through that filter.
