unable to send mails

I was on 4.7.9 wp version and suddenly since yesterday I was getting smtp configuration error. mail notifications were not coming. I thought its gravityforms issue, but then realized that I couldn’t even send a test mail after configure SMTP. your plugin saysits not tested for this version, but pl help. all my work got stuck

I didnt’ change any settings at all in the last few days
