I’m using this plugin and the FTP upload part fails all the time, please note I’m using a non-standard FTP port (not 21 or 22). I tried the same settings on FileZilla and Cyberduck, to my surprise it worked fine. I was able to confirm the settings worked outside wordpress.

I’m using Wp 4.1.1, BackWPup 3.1.4, php 5.5.20, php mem limit 256M, ftp is enable in php info settings. Could it be blocked by something in htaccess? or limitations in the plugin itself?

I realize this is a free version, i hope you respond to resolve this.

Thanks for the reply, i tried using my ip address and it also failed. I checked to see if the port 5008 is opened via https://www.canyouseeme.org/ and it is.

Is there a way to debug the backup log or a way to test the ftp login credentials prior to running the backup (currently i have to run the backup everytime).

no, sorry no mor debug options.

I appreciate you getting back to me. I was hoping I would be able to get this working…
Are you able to duplicate this error or is it just me? If you need me to send you any additional info please let me know.

I have the same problem too. I can connect with a ftp software but not with the plugin. I am using the port 2021.

I hope you can help us.

    Thanks in advance!

    Any news here?

I have the same issue connecting to an non standard ftp port using WP 4.3.1 and BackWpUp 3.2.1.

Connecting via ftp port 2021 are failing using IP or DNS name. Using another ftp tool works fine on port 2021 in both passive and non passive mode.

Changing the port on the ftp server I would like to connect to, to port 21 it works just fine.

Therefore it has to be related to the BackWpUp plugin.

Hope someone are able to help.

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but i have teset it again. the port change normely work.
