• Hi,

When migrating from the previous WooCommerce Shipping and Tax plugin to this new one, all of my saved packages were deleted. I have re-created them in the “create shipping label” section of an order, but when selecting the package templates from the “saved templates” section they all show 0kg for the mass. Where can I go to update the actual mass of each package? I use the calculated item + box weight in order to avoid weighing each package that I send out.

With the other plugin there was space in the settings page to change these presets and add weights.

    Thanks

Create package templates inside an order here: https://imgur.com/a/dTfkp23

Package weights are all 0kg: https://imgur.com/a/Q6M4Ge8

Old plugin lets you edit packages in the settings menu https://imgur.com/a/dTfkp23

    Hello parzival111,

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

To confirm, you are following the steps as outlined in this guide?
There is a Total Shipment Weight field to populate the package weight.
Please share screenshots of the steps you take to create a custom package.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

    Hi Zubair,

Please see the earlier message that I posted with screenshots of the steps in creating a package. The issue is that when making a shipping label I can set the weight of a package that I am sending out, but the system does not have the ability to remember the weight of the empty package, so I do not need to weigh packages when making labels.

Please advise how to make the package weight not 0kg for the package without the items.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    Hi @parzival111

To make sure we are on the same page, does this occur with the latest version, 1.1.1? Meanwhile, can you please check whether the migration was perhaps still running when you checked the packages? Also, was there a notice at the top of the page indicating the migration is still running?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hi Shameen,

Yes, I have activated 1.1.1. and it still does not have a place to set the empty package template weight, or edit or delete package templates. When asked initially, I started the migration and it finished quickly, but the package defaults still didn’t transfer over.

There are no notices near the top of the page about woocommerce shipping.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    Hi @parzival111

Can you please navigate to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and do the following:

    • WooCommerce transients – Clear
    • Expired transients – Clear
    • Clear template cache – Clear
    • Capabilities – Reset Capabilities
    • Clear customer sessions -Clear
    • Product lookup tables – Regenerate
    • Regenerate the product attributes lookup table – Regenerate
    • Start migrating WooCommerce Shipping labels – Start Migration
    • Start migrating WooCommerce Shipping settings – Start Migration

Next, please clear your browser and server cache and then check again.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Shameem,

Still no change to the saved templates, and no place that I can find to define the empty package weight.

    Thanks,

    Peter

I am having this same issue. There is no way to edit or delete packages once they have been saved or migrated. Additionally, the process of creating a new saved template does not give you the option to designate a weight to the package (the weight automatically sets to 0, with no way to edit).

IMO, removing the saved package setting from the Settings page was a confusing move to begin with, but why did you also have to make it so much worse?

Hi @parzival111 (and @grangep!), thank you for the additional details and feedback.

I just wanted to provide a quick update to let everyone know our developers are actively monitoring this forum. They’re aware of this issue and are working on a fix to be released soon. We’ll share more details once we have them!

    Thanks!

Hi, just an update that since version 1.1.2 of WooCommer Shipping you can now specify the box weight when saving a new package (template) as well as the ability to delete saved packages.

while I understand that the current packages setup is not the best, we have taken the feedback into account and have a revamp in the works.

    Thanks!
