• I found the place to display Date and Time at Options/General/Date and Time, but the problem is it is displayed as read-only format.
    Even I logged in as a root user (level 10) but still see the Date and Time as non-editable field. Can someone help ? ??

    Thanks
    David

  • Well, that’s sounds wrong, doesn’t it. Q’s:

    * Version of WordPress?
    * Any modifications?
    * Browser used?

    That is the time set on the server. That cannot be changed from WordPress. You would need to have root/Administrator privileges on the server and set the time via the OS. You can set an offset from the server time in WP, however.

    WP version: 1.2.2
    modification: no
    browser: IE 6.0, Firefox 1.0, Opera 7.0, and Netscape 7.0

    I’m not a root/Admin user of the server, but I remember the first time I installed WP, I was allowed to change the time and date …
    (not 100% sure)
    If I can set the offset from the server time in WP then what would be the format that I should use ? would that be something like +2.5, -4.8 … etc ?

    Thanks
    David

    O.K. I just did a test with the offset set to -6 then everything works fine. ??

    thanks a lot for your help.

    I understood you to mean the ‘Default date format’ and ‘Default time format’ were inaccessable.

    The GMT offset would depend on your location. You can find a number of location charts here:

    Edit: Ah, good.

    I have my offset set correctly, and when my emailed posts finally do post (3 hours after I send them) they are stamped with the right time. Somehow, the fact that I am 3 hours ahead of my server (I’m in Eastern, it’s in Western) is causing the messages to not post until it’s whatever time I sent the message, but on the server. I have tried fiddling with the GMT offset and it makes no difference at all. I am obviously gonna have to hack a php file somewhere or get my web host to change the server time just for me. ?? Any other ideas or can anyone tell me what code to tinker with? I would like my messages to post as soon as my cron job runs wp-mail.php rather than 3 hours later. If at all possible.

    I’m having the exact same problem.. but my offset is an hour. Funny thing is that it worked find for days meaning my email posted immediatly.

    Any help would be great.

    I am having the same problem as you ppl – all my emailed blogs are posted later – and in fact, the delay varies from post to post ?? Did u ppl find a solution? Please do help me out
