    Hello,

I updated from 4.9 to latest 5.0.3 version and now i am unable to set featured images to my posts … tried deactivating all plugins and even changing to the default theme but same problem.

The error I get on Google Console when I click on the set featured image button is this.

    Can someone help me? Thanks.

  • most of the errors appear to be react errors which would suggest that the problem is with a Guttenberg block. When you update WordPress places all your old post in a classic block. Maybe there something in one of your post like a shortcode that Guttenberg doesn’t like.

Thanks for your reply, but this happens on a blank new post, with no blocks, nothing at all … also tried going back to old editor with Classic Editor plugin, but happens the same problem, I click on the link to set featured image and does nothing and show the error in console … I’m lost….

Also, check to make sure you are not run an old version of php

I am on PHP 5.6 .. I know, old, but I can’t upgrade it on my old server … but WordPress 5.0 requirements says : 5.0 PHP version 5.2.4 or greater.

You might want to search the form I seen several people who were not able to post after the update. I had 2 sites that were run 5.6 and neither allowed me to add a post. I keep getting update errors every time I tried.

Hi, I just solved the problem.

It was Cloudflare settings that didn’t like the new WP5. The settings I had running for 4.9.9 on Cloudflare do not work for 5.0.3, I have had to review all, bypassed the cache for wp-admin folder, set cache to standart, and relax many other options . .emptied brower cache and it started working.
