    Hi,

I am trying to set up the woocommerce store for my client but for whatever reason I am unable to setup the function of Jetpack and WooCommerce Tax to calculate sales tax calculations automatically.

I click on “Woocommerce” > “Home” and go to the checklist titled “get ready to start selling”. I am now on the set up tax step. I click on “set up tax” and it takes me to a page that says “Good news! Jetpack and WooCommerce Tax can automate your sales tax calculations for you.” but when I click on the button that says “yes please” nothing happens.

I’ve tried in different browsers, on different computers, I’ve logged out and then in again but the button just never responds.

How can I set up the automatic sales tax calculations?

    Thanks,
    ~ K Wallin

    Hi there @kwallindesigns

Can you let me know if you’re able to install the WooCommerce Shipping & Tax plugin and connect that from Plugins > Add New:

    Link to image: https://d.pr/i/EqejoB

Alternatively you can download it directly from here:
    https://woocommerce.com/products/tax/

You can then install and activate the plugin and proceed with configuring automatic taxes.

I’m not sure at the moment why the onboarding wizard isn’t allowing you to proceed with this, but hopefully one of the above 2 options will help you get your tax settings configured first.

In terms of troubleshooting the onboarding wizard, could you let me know if you see any console errors when you press ‘Yes please’ please.

If you’re not familiar with how to find console errors, this guide explains this for several browsers:

In your reply, could you also share a screenshot of the page you are on when nothing happens?

I recommend https://snipboard.io for sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply.

Thanks and we will be standing by for your response.

    Hi,

    Thank you for responding!

Yes, I have had the WooCommerce Shipping & Tax plugin installed since the beginning. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it didn’t seem to make a difference.

I do get some console errors when I load that page or click the button, though I’m not sure what they mean or how to fix them. Here is a screenshot: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OR4W6kBm35l1OqoBLga7B2Q2oXmNP0fc/view?usp=sharing

And here is a screenshot of the page where I click and nothing happens: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oKPdwZahs3Idf2kHCrayQU9q-N99sqv1/view?usp=sharing

Thanks for your help! Let me know what I can do!

    Thanks @kwallindesigns

I can see from the console errors that there is a specific one related to Automated taxes but it doesn’t clarify where this is coming from.

I’d like to take a closer look into this.

Could you please contact us at WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.

I was not sure if it was safe to post my WooCommerce systems report here on this forum, but I have included it in the Support Ticket Request on WooCommerce.com.

Let me know if I need to do anything else here!

Thank you for your help, and look forward to working out the problem in the Support Ticket.
