    Hi there,
I want to mimic WordPress.com’s ability to share drafts with selected individuals, so I found and downloaded this plugin, which seems to be one of the few for this very need that is still being developed and hasn’t halted updates since WP 3.5.

I attempted to share my first draft today, but when creating the link, I got the error “Error creating shared draft.”

I tried picking a different amount of time, but the error persisted. Is there any way I can fix this, or at least know WHY it had an error creating the draft?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I have fixed it, it is totally my fault. I did a mass renaming of the plugin name without testing it proper.

1.0.1 is out. Do let me know if that solves your issue.

I updated it and tried again, I still get the same error, regardless of which draft I pick or how long I choose.

That is weird, I just tried on my install and it works fine. Could you give me access to your wp-admin? You can email me the credentials lesterchan AT gmail

I’d rather not. Do you need administrative access? I can create a test user…

Barring that, I did just try to uninstall and reinstall the plugin, and the issue persists.

I’m wondering if the plugin has problems with long post titles, colons, apostrophes, or other characters.

My shortest post title is 22 characters including a space. Most of my post titles include colons, apostrophes or other special characters.

I’m not sure if the draft link WP-DwF is generating would have a problem with that.

ETA: I’m using WordPress Multi Site. I’ve tested the plugin, which is Network Activated, on my other sites, and the issue persists, even with a draft title of just “Draft Test.”

Oh Multisite, it is not MS ready yet. That explains the error because the table will not get created

Now it does: https://github.com/lesterchan/wp-draftsforfriends/archive/master.zip Let me know if it works for you =)

    Well…
We’ve made progress. I installed the master and I can now select a draft and pick a time, but when I click the Go button to create a link for the draft, nothing happens.

Hmm that is very weird, is your MS on subdomains or folder based? I really have to take a look at the admin backend. You can create a test user for me (need not be admin privileges). Editor role is fine. Drop me the credentials at lesterchan AT gmail

    Sent.

The Multisite is set up to create subdomains, e.g. sitename1.domain.com, sitename2.domain.com.

Hmm I can’t load the activation page, it returns me a blank page

I think I might know the problem it seems that the JS/CSS is blocked because of domain mismatch.

I *might* have fixed it, you can redownload the zip file again https://github.com/lesterchan/wp-draftsforfriends/archive/master.zip and upload it.

Sorry for the trouble, first time doing support for MS =)

Unfortunately, it’s still having the same problem for me, where I click the “Go” button and nothing happens.

I noticed that in this master, the version number didn’t change, but I didn’t know if that was intentional on your part or not.

Were you able to load the activation page eventually?

    Plugin Author Lester Chan

    (@gamerz)

Nope, still a blank page. Both the site and wp-activate.php are blank =( Could you see if there are any Javascript errors or can you check to see where draftsforfriends.min.js is loading from and which MS you are using?

    Thread Starter Azurite

I had a plugin turned on which made the site invisible to everyone but Admins. I changed the setting so that it should be visible to registered users, which should include the account I made for you that has Editor access.

If that doesn’t help, let me know, but I’m not sure where to look for JavaScript errors for the file you mentioned. My Superadmin Helper WLS log doesn’t record any errors that I can tell, so it would have to be somewhere else, maybe on my site’s cPanel?

You need to use Chrome inspect element and go to the console tab to check for errors.

I still can’t access the site. It is still blank.
