Everything had been working fine. However, over the last 12 hours, I have been getting this error message from Facebook:

Unable to share post for facebook. Error: (#100) Only owners of the URL have the ability to specify the picture, name, thumbnail or description params.

The only thing new is the recent update of Revive Old Posts. Any idea what is causing this?

Hi there, please try disconnecting the account and readding it back to the plugin. Also make sure you’ve followed this steps for creating an app: https://docs.revive.social/article/349-how-to-create-a-facebook-application-for-revive-old-post

You can also try creating a new doc using those instructions, but be careful, don’t delete your old app unless your site has HTTPS.

Let us know how it goes

Ok. I’ll let you know. But, I redid all this when version 8.0.0 can out.

I just went to developers.facebook.com/apps and Facebook is asking for new permissions and an APP review… I’m not sure if this plugin needs manage_pages, publish_pages, or what. But, it also states that “A member of our review team will test how your app uses manage_pages. Please give them detailed step-by-step instructions for how to see this permission the same way people using your app would.” Plus, they want a screenshot.

Hi there, please change the app to development mode if you have it as live.

    Hi there,

same problem here. Already changed to development mode and FB app is still not working in Revive Old Post. All problems started with v.8+

    Hi –

Also – Unable to share post for facebook. Error: (#100) Refreshed the FB and had to submit for approval asking for new permissions and an APP review (now pending).

The only workaround is to post to Twitter and share the tweet to FB..my ROP log if full of ‘Unable to share post for facebook. Error: (#100) Only owners of the URL have the ability to specify the picture, name, thumbnail or description params.’

Should I roll back to 8.0.6?

    Thanks – Greg

I have erased my facebook app, which was working fine until the requirement of <<https>> comes out. Is there any chance for me to still making posts on my facebook page with Revive Old Post and a new app from FB? Thank you

    Hey,

It seems that Facebook is enforcing some new checks for the page owners. There are two possible ways to fix this:

    1) you will need to verify the domain of your website ( the one that uses Revive Old Post for posting ) on your facebook page -> https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/domain-verification
    2) You can disable first posting with the image ( from the post format tab ), if that does not solve the issue, you can disable the include link checkbox too.

Let me know if you need any other help.

Same problem here. Stopped to send just upgraded plugin. Got error:
Unable to share post for facebook. Error: (#100) Only owners of the URL have the ability to specify the picture, name, thumbnail or description params.

    Your Solutions:
    1. To do that, we must to create a BUSINESS ACCOUNT in BUSINESS MANAGER:
    https://business.facebook.com/overview
    2. Disabled the include link checkbox and only send the title of the article. Can’t disable posting with image with free plugin version…

So still with same problem, can’t send post right…

It works with Solution 1 ??

@joseaguerrero can you please send us a ticket here: https://revive.social/support/ so we can discuss your solution a bit more and find out if it’s reproducible?

    Looking forward to your email

@joseaguerrero we created a business account on FB and still not working…
    @uriahs-victor

Could you please elaborate on “solution 1” please? Thanks!

@sapiensmedicus and everyone in the future coming to this topic, it has been marked as resolved so please avoid from posting new replies, instead create a new post.

@sapiensmedicus Please try the following steps facebook has listed here:

    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/domain-verification

After that let us know if the issue still exists. If it does, create a new thread.

The solution is to verify the domain in Business Manager. https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/domain-verification

Revive does not work for 3 weeks until I verify the domain.

Hello @rsocial, I have verified my website on facebook but I can’t add my business page to the business configuration. It is frustrating and rare to me because I can’t even find my page listed in the pages I have create (or that I manage), even though I have found the page in “configuration -> pages”, from my personal publicity account.

I have encountered that accessing from my personal account of Facebook, from where I had created the business page, it can be found a message asking you to approve the change in ownership, so I answer the petition but nothing happens.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advanced
