Unable to Sign In After Latest WP Autoupdate

  • I am no longer able to sign-in to wp-admin after latest WP Auto Update, which is using a child theme for 2012. After repeated failed attempts to sign in and spending time with GoDaddy tech support we temporarily uninstalled all the plugin’s in the GoDaddy Control panel hoping that would at least allow me to sign in, but did not help.

    Any idea why I am unable to sign in? Is the latest WP not child proof theme friendly?

  • The theme you are using is raindrops-colormaster. Try switching to the default theme.

    Using the file manager provided by GoDaddy or FTP rename wp-content/themes/raindrops-colormaster to wp-content/themes/raindrops-colormasterold. This should force WordPress to open with twenty seventeen.

    The latest update must have changed the themes, I was using a child proof theme, which is maybe what the raindrops-color master is, but the website has lost all the child proof editing I have done the last couple of years.

    What would word press update lock me and require I start over with the 4 year old website? Or rename the current child proof theme?

    It is the 2011 theme, not 2012 that I initially provided

    WordPress would do none of that. You had a child theme not a child proof theme?

    What themes are in your wp-content/themes folder? twentyeleven should be there along with twentyeleven child.

    WordPress would not bring up another theme unless that was the only theme in the folder.

    You say WP would not do that but since the auto update 4 or 5 days ago I am nolonger able to sign into the WP admin for the website and I lost all the updating I have done in the style sheets.

    Why am I locked out of my account?

    I see twentyeleven running on your site. Did you solve the problem?

    No, Im locked out of my web site, the default twentyeleven is running.
