I seem to be having the same issue mentioned here.
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/the-form-was-unable-to-submit-related-to-caching-and-data-token/

Since I use caching on all sites, like most people do.

It has taken quite a while to figure this out and that wpform was the cause, but client has lost so many form submissions and leads because of this issue. Many dozens.

What is really worrying is that this means this issue will be affecting every single client whose site I have ever installed wpform on, they will not be receiving form submissions for the same reason, as they all use caching.

Is there any solution/fix to this, other than to turn off caching?
Many clients have a contact form on the home page or in the footer, so disabling caching on any page with a form is not an option.

Otherwise I am going to have to advise every client to get rid of wpform.

@niksebastian it is nothing to do wpforms not being a good fit for my project, this issue affects all sites that use wpforms and caching enabled, which is most sites.

As I have already pointed out above, what if the site has a form on every page, which many sites do, this means that every single page has to be excluded from caching, which basically means there is no caching.

This really isn;t an acceptable workaround as it negatively impacts the performance of the website, which also negatively impacts Google ranking.

    Hi @lordsnake

Thank you for your continued feedback on this topic.

Please allow me to chime in and share my thoughts. You’ve mentioned that our guide suggests excluding form pages from caching and you are right. This is ONE of the potential solutions to fix this. Just below this suggestion, we also recommend excluding our form’s assets from caching as an alternative as shown in this screenshot. We’ve offered different solutions since one fix may not fit all sites.

I hope this helps to clarify.

    Thanks. ??

You might want to re-read that page you have linked to, as it definitely does not say that excluding assets is an alternative to excluding pages.

It all relates to javascript errors anyway and doesn’t actually mention the specific issue this post is about. The issue explicitly mentioned here is the form simply not submitting, and no Javascript errors are occurring when this happens.

It states that you need to exclude pages that are causing problems, and implies that you ALSO need to exclude assets or at best is just telling you how to do that.

    Hi @lordsnake,

I can totally see what you mean. I’m sorry that these steps were not entirely clear.

I’ve submitted a documentation update request to our writing team and this doc will be updated soon.

Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Thank you again. ??
