• I am currerntly struggling with a migration from Blogger. This has been difficult, but there are enough words of wisdom that I think I can manage it. Until I find that my host (lunarpages) offers a module that automatically installs WordPress. So I have tried to delete the previous attempt, but found I was unable to delete the following file;
    wp-includes/.pureftpd-upload.43325695.15.f77.aeb87951

    Because of this I cannot delete the sub-directory, and therefore cannot delete the place where WP will sit (me.com/journal).

    Any help getting rid of this file will be appreciated.

  • I hate these little files too.
    Try making it’s permissions 777 then deleting.
    Try renaming it
    Then email your support people and tell them to nuke it.

    that said, it’s presence does not stop wp being installed.

    If you’re using Cpanel – they can be deleted through File Manager

    open cpanel on domain > file manager > navigate to .pureftpd-upload file (clicking folders to naviagate)

    Then delete the offending nasty in the right hand panel

    Remember to click Trash once deleted
