    Hi I am trying to update my home page – on the staging site – and I am unable to save it. I thought it was an issue with the staging site as I got a critical error message when I exited the page

    There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. (I did not receive an email about this!)

    So tried creating a new staging site and the same thing happened. I had just updated wordpress and all plugins/themes – is there some conflict? I tried deactivating all plugins and it still has the same issue – I get either a 500 code or a 403 code when I try to save and then a critical error if I leave without saving.

    I have also excluded the site from my security plugin but it has made no difference. Please can you help?

    Update – I disabled the nesting feature in Elementor and it allowed some of my plugins, when re-activated one by one, to allow me to save (such as Ocean WP extensions) but the majority of plugins – AIOSEO, Hotjar, Forminator, Google Analytics, Optinmonster, Bit Integrations – to name just a few – would not work. Suggesting it’s not a single plugin that has the conflict? Not sure what else to try but all ideas very welcome. TIA

    Based on what you’re describing, the issue is possibly related to memory limit. I recommend starting there, by checking that the site meets Elementor’s system requirements.

    There are other possible reasons for encountering 500 and/or 403 errors when attempting to save a page or pages. If the issue is not related to memory, please reference the following guides to see if they help you pinpoint the issue:
