• Resolved greencode

I am getting the following popup when attempting to update or save a product as a draft. This only happens with products that belong to categories that I’ve excluded from the Sync:

This product belongs to a category or tag that is excluded from the Facebook catalog sync. It will not sync to Facebook.

To sync this product to Facebook, click Go to Settings and remove the category or tag exclusion or click Cancel and update the product’s category / tag assignments.

  • Yes same with here.

Really annoying that the plugin is blocking functionality in such a way.

    Hi @greencode and @joaopegb!

Thanks for writing in to us here, I appreciate it!

To be sure I’m understanding this issue, can you please confirm that this is what’s happening?

    • You have deliberately excluded a category or product from synchronizing with Facebook.
    • Any time you update an excluded product or save it as a draft, you get this message from the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin.
    • This message is unwanted because you’ve already excluded that product in some fashion from being synchronized.
    • Is that the case?

      Thank you both very much!

Yes, the fact that I’ve excluded a certain category of products from being synchronized with FB shouldn’t stop me from updating a draft product.

    Hi @joaopegb,

Great, thank you so much for that, I appreciate it.

I’ll be bringing this up to my product team and they’ll bear it in consideration for a future version of the plugin.

Is there anything else I can help out with? Please don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Thanks,

    Thanks.

Yes, please check the synchronisation of product prices to FB Commerce Manager, had problems with almost all my products that don’t sync the same prices that I have in WooCommerce.

That was the main reason I actually had to disable product sync to facebook.

Apologies for not replying sooner, yes exactly the same issue. Currently I’m having to deactivate your plugin to make changes and then activate after changing products so this is a fairly major issue.

@greencode – Thanks so much, I’ve passed it on to my colleagues for their review and investigation. For the time being, the workaround you’re using seems to be the best bet for getting around it.

@joaopegb – Would you please be able to start a new thread with this new issue? Additionally, would you please paste your system status in that new thread so I can get a better idea of what might be going on? You can grab it by going to:

    WooCommerce > Status?and clicking on?Get system report.

Since I’ve reported this behavior to my team, I’m going to mark this thread as resolved as we’re now aware of it.

    Thank you, all!
